The Ra’ah Movement, led by Pastor Maame Obeng Darko, made a profound impact at Accra Academy on March 23, 2025, as hundreds of students gathered at the assembly grounds to experience a powerful move of God. The event, organized by the Hadassah Foundation, began with an electrifying praise ministration from the school’s choir, Inspired Voices, whose spirit-filled performance set the tone for an unforgettable encounter.

Following this, the atmosphere intensified as Minister Paolo took the stage, just as he had done in Labone SHS earlier in the year. His ground-shaking praise session sent waves of excitement through the students, as voices were lifted, feet danced, and the name of the Lord was glorified. The sound of worship echoed far beyond the school’s premises, testifying to the presence of God in the gathering.
The highlight of the event was the sermon by the convener and founder of the Ra’ah Movement, Pastor Maame Obeng Darko. She preached the same sermon she had delivered at Labone SHS, titled “I Saw the Dead Standing,” based on Revelation 20:11.
In an interview, Pastor Maame Obeng Darko shared the inspiration behind this message:
“Before we started this whole movement, one of the things that came strongly in my spirit was me being asked how I found Christ and what made me continue to have Him as my firm foundation, no matter what. I haven’t been perfect ever since I found Christ. I have done many things, but I still know that Christ is my firm foundation. And there were certain things that held me grounded, and I always came back to that.”
She recounted how, as a little girl in 1995, she attended Action Chapel International with her mother, where Archbishop Duncan-Williams had organized a play on Judgment Day.
“I was barely 10 years old when I watched it, and it really hit me. The play wasn’t just words—it was acted out. The whole effect, the sounds, the way everything happened—it was so realistic. It kind of scared me. It made me always remember that day. Till today, I have never forgotten.”
This experience shaped her faith and became the driving force behind her mission to preach this message to students.
“Many do not preach about heaven and hell these days, but I want these young ones to understand that Judgment Day is real. If they ever stray, I want this sermon to bring them back, reminding them that they will one day stand before God. There will be a day where we will be judged for everything—our good deeds, our bad deeds, how we treated people, whether we obeyed God’s instructions. And there will be another book—the Book of Life. If your name is not found in it, you will not make it to heaven.”
She explained that each time she preaches the sermon, it carries a fresh anointing, even for her.
“Even for me, it hits me every time I preach it because I’m preaching to myself. Every time, I rededicate my life. This is a message we have to consistently remind ourselves of, so we can stay on track.”

The event concluded with a cash donation from the Ra’ah Movement to the school’s chaplaincy, reinforcing their commitment to supporting spiritual growth in senior high schools.
The first Ra’ah Movement event was held on January 19, 2025, at Labone Senior High School, marking the beginning of this nationwide mission. The Hadassah Foundation, originally founded in 2019 to support orphanages and provide counseling, has now expanded to bring the Gospel to students across Ghana.
The Labone SHS event also featured Minister Paolo’s energetic praise session and Pastor Maame Obeng Darko’s moving sermon, “I Saw the Dead Standing.” Many students surrendered their lives to Christ, and just as in Accra Academy, a donation was made to support the school’s chaplaincy.
The Ra’ah Movement is on a mission to impact every senior high school in Ghana, ensuring that students encounter the transformative power of God. With two powerful events completed, more schools will soon experience the movement’s life-changing impact.
